Calculate Your Cladding

When it comes to upgrading your exterior walls, choosing the right design is only the first part of your journey. Figuring out exactly what materials you need and what you need to deduct is a different challenge entirely.

To help our customers, we have created an advanced cladding calculator that does much more than just work out your total square meterage. It automatically deducts space for windows and doors, calculates the necessary trims, and guides you through all our styles and colours. This ensures you not only select the perfect look for your home, but order the exact amount of materials to get the job done.

A Modern Cladding Solution, Built to Perform

Looking to upgrade your cladding with a modern appearance, lasting performance, and reduced maintenance? Composite cladding enables you to do just that. But what do these added performance benefits actually mean for you?

Key Benefits
What This Means To You?
  • monitor icon Increased Protection

Engineered to resist moisture, composite cladding acts as your home’s first defence, helping to prevent damp from penetrating its structure. It is designed to protect your home from some of the worst weather here in the UK.

  • Effortless Care & Maintenance

A common drawback of timber cladding is that it needs to be regularly sealed, stained, or painted. Our composite cladding has built-in moisture resistance, which eliminates the need for sealing or painting its surface to retain its strength. This means less time maintaining its appearance and more time relaxing on your weekends, saving you time and money for years to come.

  • a small vector icon A Lasting, Modern Appearance

Are you upgrading because your current timber solution looks dull and tired? Upgrading to composite cladding means you can retain a modern appearance effortlessly. This gives your exterior a consistent look without the common issues of cracking or splitting, and without the need to replace it after only a few years.

  • Green plant icon A Sustainable, Eco-Friendly Choice

Opting for our composite cladding is a positive environmental choice. Made from 90% recycled materials, it actively reduces landfill waste. Furthermore, its exceptional durability means fewer replacements are needed over time, which not only saves you money but also helps protect the ecosystem by conserving natural resources.

Installation Guides
Hassle Free Installation Made Simple From Unboxing to Final Touches

Thinking about installation? Is it easy? Do I need a professional? We understand these are key questions.

All our cladding products are designed to simulate a traditional shiplap installation, created for both ease and speed.

This means they can typically be installed by an experienced DIYer. In essence, the process involves installing your battens (e.g., at 300mm centres), then pre-drilling and screwing the boards securely into place. For comprehensive instructions and all the essential details, please download our full installation guide below.

Customer FAQs

  • 1Do I need to leave expansion gaps when installing composite cladding?

Yes. Because composite materials naturally expand and contract with temperature fluctuations, you must leave a 3mm to 5mm expansion gap at the butt joints and board ends. Properly accommodating for thermal movement ensures your facade remains structurally sound and prevents buckling under direct heat exposure.

  • 2Can your composite cladding be installed vertically and horizontally?

Yes. Our composite cladding systems are structurally designed to be installed in both horizontal and vertical orientations, allowing for complete architectural flexibility on your exterior facades while maintaining full weather resistance.

  • 3Is it cheaper to render or add cladding?

From a maintenance perspective, composite cladding will be much cheaper and more hassle-free in the long run compared to render or wood cladding. Of course, for a first investment, composite cladding can appear more expensive, but you need to take into account how much money you save on installation and maintenance in the future.

  • 4What are the required batten centres for composite cladding?

For a secure and compliant installation, your supporting timber or composite subframe battens must be installed at maximum 300mm centres. This ensures the cladding boards are fully supported and prevents any warping or bowing under wind loads.

  • 5What is the best colour for cladding?

Of course, the best colour for your home is personal preference, but the most popular colour is usually a shade of grey cladding. This is because it’s timeless, goes with everything, and doesn’t show any evidence of little family members and their muddy hands!

  • 6What is the most popular exterior cladding?

Trends come and go, but our anthracite grey and grey cladding are both popular pretty much all of the time. The smooth finish and wood grain finish very much depend on the right look for your individual property though, so it’s definitely not something you should follow the trends on.

  • 7Do I need clips to install your cladding?

Only for the very first board. We recommend using our Starter Clips to ensure your first row is perfectly straight and secure.

For all the following boards, the system is designed for hidden screwing. Each board has a sunken lip which allows you to:

    1. Pre-drill a pilot hole through the lip.
    2. Drive a screw through this hole and into your batten.
    3. The shiplap connection of the next board then slides over and completely hides the screw head.

This design gives you a strong, secure fixing with a clean, screw-free finish

  • 8Is composite cheaper than wood cladding?

Composite cladding is more expensive initially however, the maintenance costs of wood make it cost more than composite cladding in the long run.

  • 9How long does these modern cladding boards last?

Here in the UK, composite cladding can last for many, many years. Better still, our composite cladding comes with a warranty!

  • 10Does synthetic cladding offer water resistance?

Yes! Composite cladding absorbs much less water than wooden alternatives, making it rot-free and requiring lower maintenance.

  • 11Does composite cladding have any disadvantages?

The only real disadvantage is a slightly higher initial investment to purchase the cladding; however, in the long run, the composite cladding will work out cheaper.

  • 12Is our cladding easy to install?

Absolutely! If you have any previous DIY experience, then installing our composite cladding will be incredibly easy. Just download our free PDF installation guide and see how simple it is to transform your home.
