Smooth Anthracite Grey Composite Cladding

Our standard Anthracite Grey has been a customer favourite for nearly a decade. These composite cladding boards use a smooth, sanded finish with a distinctive dark grey colour and slight blue tint, giving you a sleek, contemporary surface that works particularly well on modern garden rooms and exterior projects.

One of the things I like about the smooth finish is that it acts almost like a blank canvas. It blends well with different garden features, bi-fold doors and both lighter and darker colours without adding another heavy texture to the project. We’ve seen it work particularly well alongside lighter Grey Composite Decking, where the contrast between the lighter deck and darker Anthracite Cladding helps break up the grey tones across the garden.

The sanded surface is also quite forgiving. Most minor scuffs and scratches can be carefully blended with a gentle rub from a soft wire brush, which is useful on an exterior that’s going to see everyday use.

One thing I always point out when choosing this smooth, sanded finish is the initial weathering period. You may see temporary water marks or tannin staining after rainfall, particularly during the first few months after installation. This is a natural part of the board’s initial weathering and can continue for around the first six months as the surface settles into its longer-term appearance.”
