Our Grey Slatted Cladding combines the charm of traditional timber batten cladding with the convenience of low-maintenance composite. Finished in a timeless Grey and enhanced with a realistic wood-grain texture, these boards create a sleek, high-end look—perfect for garden rooms, home offices or full property façades.
As one of the more contemporary composite cladding types in our collection, the slatted design gives you the appearance of individual timber battens while using a practical panel system. The dark backing creates a shadow effect between the Grey slats, helping produce a clean, defined finish once installed.
Built for modern living, the capped boards offer increased resistance to UV exposure and staining, making them a practical choice for year-round outdoor use. Durable, stylish and designed to last, this composite cladding combines a modern architectural finish with the lower upkeep of composite.

With this board, it’s not just the Grey colour you’re choosing. The wood-grain surface, raised slats and darker shadow effect all contribute to its finished appearance. A free sample gives you a much better look at those details than a photograph can provide.
The slatted design adds architectural interest and a subtle play of light and shadow, keeping things visually appealing. It’s a great way to add interest to the blank slate of a property.
Just a quick scrub with warm soapy water and a soft brush will keep your cladding looking neat and tidy with minimal effort. Our composite cladding maintenance guide covers the routine care we'd recommend over the longer term.
Built to handle the challenges of the outdoors, this cladding offers increased stain and fade resistance, backed by a 25-year warranty.
Endlessly versatile, our grey slatted cladding will fit right in—whether your home is modern, rustic, or somewhere in between.

A Word from Our Expert, Allan Jeffrey BSc. Eng. (Hons), Composite Materials Specialist, Environmentalist, and CEO of Ultra Decking:
We kept the name simple for our Modern Grey slatted cladding because its look speaks for itself. It’s a luxurious, contemporary grey with a subtle silver tint running through its appearance.
Its cleverest feature is the ‘shadow-effect’ black backing. This ensures that any gaps between the slats reveal only a deep shadow, which makes the grey finish stand out for a sharper, more defined and professional look.
But the secret to its truly authentic texture lies in our constant search for perfection. This journey led us to develop our enhanced capped surface, where we took the multi-tonal patterns from our Natural Composite Decking Collection and engineered them into these slatted panels. We believe it creates one of the most authentic wood appearances on the market, delivering a truly attainable luxurious finish.”
Not particularly. Our grey slatted cladding can be cleaned with just a bucket of warm, soapy water, but many of our customers like to use a soft-bristled brush to get into all the nooks and crannies.
Grey and Dark Grey slatted are two of our popular batten cladding colours. The neutral, modern look works well with many outdoor spaces in the UK and offers homeowners a way to modernise an exterior without the Grey becoming too dark or overpowering.
If you’re deciding between Grey, Anthracite or another finish, our guide to composite cladding colours can help you compare how the different shades work with the rest of your project.
We specifically recommend Grey Slatted Composite Cladding for families and pet owners because it’s incredibly easy to clean and doesn’t get as hot as aluminium cladding can. It also provides buildings with an extra layer of protection from garden games and muddy paws, which is always handy with little ones around.
No, it is highly resistant to both. This cladding combines an authentic, deep-grain texture with the high performance of our advanced ‘capped’ technology.
Each board is wrapped in a protective shield. This layer provides two key benefits:
