Capped composite decking on the other hand is different most of the time these can be removed very easily, but don’t get too comfortable if there left even on capped composite decking for long periods they can still permanently stain your composite boards.

How to Remove Grease from Composite Decking

If the grease stains has just appeared making use of hot soapy water and a soft-bristle brush to remove grease stains is the easiest and quickest way. If the stain has been left for longer periods then you can also use baking soda and vinegar to remove the stains. If you follow the procedures below, you should easily remove most grease stains.

Step 1

Use Hot Soapy Water

If your decking is stained with grease or oil from food, you can remove the grease by scrubbing the affected area with a soft bristle brush and hot soapy water.

• First, get some paper towels and use them to wipe and soak up some of the grease or oil from the decking surface.
• Use ammonia-free liquid dishwasher and mix it with hot water. Mix one tablespoon of the liquid dishwasher with 2 litres of hot water. Pour some of the mixtures onto the affected area with the grease stain.

Using Hot Water With Undiluted Dishwasher

You can also remove grease stains with hot water and a concentrated ammonia free dishwasher. It is advisable to use an ammonia-free dishwasher for composite decking.

• First, get a bucket of hot water and pour it on the grease stain.
• Then add some undiluted ammonia-free dishwasher to the stain and scrub it with a soft bristle brush. The dishwasher will break down the structure of the oil for easy removal. For stubborn grease stains, place the dishwasher on the stain and let it stay for a while. Then use the brush to scrub the stains away. Keep scrubbing until the stain is removed. Do not let the soap dry out.
• Finally, use water to rinse the decking to remove any traces of soap.

Step 3

Use Vinegar and Baking Soda for stubborn Stains

For hard to remove grease or oil stains, you can use a mix of diluted apple cider or white vinegar and baking soda. Baking soda works well for oil stains by absorbing excess oil on the deck’s surface. A mixture of vinegar and baking soda will act as an agent to remove the grease or oil. You can add either apple cider or white vinegar to the baking soda.

• Sprinkle some baking soda directly onto the grease stain. Allow the baking soda to stay on the affected area for a few minutes to absorb some of the oil.
• Get your vinegar and pour it onto the baking soda. The vinegar will create a foam with the baking soda. Then use a soft bristle brush to scrub the affected area to remove the stains from the composite decking.
• After follow the steps above to clean thoroughly and then simply rinse well with hot water.
