Our story doesn’t begin in the traditional way of a product or a boardroom decision; it begins with a question that homeowners and merchants across the U.K. were asking: “Why can’t I access high-quality composite decking at an affordable price?”

Our Story: A Mission for Quality & Value

2017

How Could We Provide a Solution To The Market’s Request?

After extensive market research and listening to our customers, our goal was set. We aimed to create a solution that retained the high quality and benefits of composite materials while making them affordable for homeowners. Our research and development then began, focusing on creating a design that could bring this ideal mix of quality and affordability to the market.

2018

Rigorous Testing for the Perfect Composite Decking Solution:

It was a simple question that posed a complex challenge. We tested hundreds of prototypes, driven by the goal of creating a tailored design that would introduce both quality and affordability to the composite decking market. By the end of 2018, after testing and rejecting countless versions, our Home Choice and Signature collections were finally born, bringing a unique combination of affordability and high-end finishes to the market for the very first time.

2019

Pursuit of True Authenticity:

From the moment our solutions launched, demand surged, leading to consistent sell-outs of our collections. But we didn’t stop there. Listening closely to our customers, we focused on crafting the most authentic first-generation decking to date. While mixed colours were already part of our Signature range, creating an affordable yet truly authentic option became our next innovation, inspired by real customer needs.

2020

The Launch of Our Most Authentic Board to Date:

With our Home Choice range now well-established and becoming a major player in the market, the success of our 2017 creations was taking shape and moving at full speed. However, customers were still pushing for a more authentic and affordable solution. During 2019, many tests, redesigns, and alterations were done. Finally, we launched our exclusive Natural Collection, the very first of its kind in the U.K.

2021

A Revolution in Wood Grain Surface Finishes:

With our full range of decking, from the entry-level Home Choice to the premium Signature collection, we delivered authentic, affordable quality. However, customer feedback called for better surface texture and colour stability. After extensive UV testing, we launched an enhanced wood grain finish with richer tones and lasting colour—a breakthrough that, to this day, remains unmatched in the market.

2022

Industry Recognition & Enhanced Content:

Our honest, helpful content and successful decking ranges drew industry attention. Home Choice was rated best for affordability by experts, while Natural earned praise for its authenticity from Real Homes. Our MD actively supported industry-wide collaboration, and Ultra Decking expanded into Norway, bringing premium design and affordability to top builders and merchants.

2023

Customer-Driven Innovation with Fencing & Cladding:

Our customers spoke again: they wanted our expertise in creating quality yet affordable products to bring new creations to other parts of the garden. So, our work began to bring our knowledge and expertise to designing and developing an affordable solution for fencing and cladding. By mid-2023, our already proven formula was used to create fence panels and cladding, launching an affordable yet high-quality fencing and cladding solution into the UK market for the very first time.

2024

Enhancements to Fencing and Cladding Market Products:

Listening to our customers and the market since 2017, we saw the requirement for improved surface textures in both fencing and cladding wood grain surfaces. With the success already seen in our rigorously tested decking collection, our expertise was once again used to create an enhanced wood grain fencing and cladding solution with a richer colour tone and more stable, long-lasting colours. This led to the entry of our new wood grain fencing solution.

2025

Never Stop Listening to Customers – How About This Year?

Did we finally stop? No. Following our core value of simply listening, we once again took onboard customer and market feedback. There was a rising demand for an affordable slatted fence panel and an enhanced, more authentic surface for our cladding solution. This year, we are proud to launch our most authentic Capped Surface Texture cladding and enhanced luxury fence panels to date that capture the growing trend of batten fencing.
