Summer has Arrived in Your Outdoor Home Exterior

It’s time to get those sunloungers and BBQs out, as summer has finally arrived here in the UK. Here at Ultra Decking we understand that a homeowners garden is an extension of their indoor home so we have selected a few ideas on how to transform your garden this summer time.

Add Furniture to Your Garden

Your composite decking area may be looking a bit sparse now the warmer weather has arrived, so now is the perfect time to clean that decking area up and bring out the furniture. Over the winter months composite decking can have debris and dirt from the colder weather, it’s important to maintain your decking over those months to ensure this preserves the composite decking. To clean your decking simply use warm soapy water and brush with a soft bristle brush. For full maintenance tips click here.

Introduce a BBQ and furniture to your outdoor decking space to offer a suitable entertaining area for your friends and family to enjoy. Woven rattan furniture is a popular style to add to your entertaining area and can be styled with cushions and throws.

Add a Rug to Your Composite Decking Area

During the warmer months your composite decking can become warmer due to the hotter weather. You may wish to add a rug to this for comfort when walking over your decking. Not only will this help to prevent your composite decking getting too hot but can also add a pop of colour or character to your decking space.

Some homeowners choose to have their rug as a contrast from their decking or some choose a more natural style rug.

Add a Paddling Pool or a Hot Tub to Your Garden

During those warmer months you and your family may wish to cool off by having a dip in a paddling pool or a hot tub. Adding a hot tub or paddling pool to your composite decking area is a fantastic way to entertain the family.

Composite decking is also an excellent choice for edging, thanks to its slip-resistant properties, making it a popular option among homeowners. And by doing this, you save the grass from getting ruined – an edded bonus!

Add a Bar or Entertaining Area to Your Garden

Implementing a bar into your outdoor living space will also help utilise the space all year round, not just seasonal! This is a perfect way to entertain family and friends regardless of the weather – as long as this is sheltered of course! You can add a heater like this homeover has done so ensure all guests are warm if the temperature does dip as well. You may wish to add cushions and throws to make this space cosy at night time.

By adding a bar to your outdoor living space, this creates the perfect aesthetic of bringing the inside home to your outside home! This could be your new favourite place to host!

Add a Fun Corner for the Kids - and the Adults!

Add a bit of fun to your garden by adding a fun corner! Creating a space for games such as a ping pong table or darts is the perfect way to host a night for your family and friends!

Introduce comfy seats like beanbags and you may even wish to add an outdoor cinema in there! Don’t forget to add a pop of colour!

Add Summer Plants to Your Outdoor Living Space

Make your garden reflect summer by adding plants and summer shrubs to your garden. Summer is the perfect season for gardening so you may wish to experiment with growing your own vegetables! You never know you may even become the new Allan Titchmarsh!

Adding colour to your garden with flowers and plants is also a great way to attract new wildlife into your garden which can help you feel at home with nature!

Add a Pergola!

All homeovers in the UK know how unpredictable our weather is, so you may wish to add a pergola to your outdoor living space. This will ensure you can use your garden all year round, come rain or shine! Pergolas come in a variety of designs which include full closed, slightly open and some which can open and retract.

These are great for adding shade and cover when needed and you can enjoy the benefit of opening them fully to enjoy the sun, if you choose that particular design.
